leaves that are palmately lobed and long-stalked. In the early spring, Red Maples have
tiny red flowers, in late spring, the flowers have bright red winged seeds. In early fall,
the foliage begins to take on autumn tints, usually red but often yellow or orange or a
combination. It is a fast growing rounded or oval shaped species. It has dark green
leaves, 2-4" across and usually three lobed (some have five lobes), and silvery
undersides. Red Maples grow in Zones 3-9.
