Loquat
Loquats are small trees or large shrubs that grow about 20' tall in 8-10 years. They have
6-12" sawtooth edge leaves that are dark green on top, the undersides are coated with
tan fuzz. The Loquat bears 6-8" clusters of small, fragrant, creamy white flowers in
late fall and early winter and produce tartly sweet, aromatic 1 1/2" golden-yellow to
orange fruit in mid to late spring in frost free locations. Loquats are hardy to Zone 7.
They will grow in direct sun or partial shade in almost any moist soil.
