Dogwood
White Dogwoods are deciduous ornamental trees that eventually grow to a height of 15-30'
with a spread of 15-20'. Its 3-5" flowers are borne in midspring before the leaves
open. The blossoms are usually white, and each petal has a distinctive notch at its tip.
Small clusters of shiny red berries 1/4" in diameter are borne at the ends of the
twigs in late summer and fall. The leaves, 3-4" long and 2-3" wide are pinkish
green when they open, then turn medium green in summer and red in fall. Container Dogwoods
should be planted in spring. Dogwoods grow in Zones 3-8.
